Paylaş 9 Şubat 2010 | Kategoriler: video | Etiketler: , , ,

In the documentary “Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes” filmmaker Byron Hurt takes a critical look at Hip Hop. What we hope to do here is offer some feedback on the show and take a closer look at how mainstream Hip Hop got to where it is today and discuss what we need to understand about the images and messages in Hip Hop music. Guests: Courtney Morris, researcher who studies the impact of Hip Hop on black women. Mahdi Fard Muhammad, author of “It’s Time: The Race Is Over To Open A Black Man’s Eyes” and director of the Relationship Fitness Center. D. Solo, host and executive producer of the Hip Hop show “Street Flava”

Ok, “why is your son/daughter up after midnight watching?” — why make the video? I’m sure Nelly wouldn’t want his sister or mother shakin her ass for the world. Ya women know the lyrics, but thats like saying a prostitute knows what her job entails. They do know what their job entails and the women in these videos do know the lyrics. Some call it recreation, others call it extra RENT MONEY or paying their tuition. Sometimes McDonalds 9-5 won’t cut it.

LISTEN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hip-hop only express the realities of the artist.Since nothing is made up , we can’t fault them for reporting it.TIPDRILL WAS AIRED ON BET UNCUT,WHICH CAME ON A LITTLE OVER MIDNIGHT.Ask why is your son or daughter watching videos late first, then say “what are the women doing”.THEY ARE DEGRADING THEMSELVES.THEY KNOW THE LYRICS SAY “I (expletive) that (expletive) and hit it from the back, and never came back” Talk to the women, not the male.Peace.

Don’t know why the woman says that sexism is an American value when in fact equality is the value and sexism is a slowly dwindling mentality that all humans have in varying degrees. In fact, you don’t see misogyny in any other music form but hip-hop and the blues. Michael Tyson writes how misogyny has always been a part of black culture, particularly when in the hood. The question now is what to do about it. Hip-Hop comes in many forms and the good stuff needs to be heard.

Nas was not a “gangsta rapper”. That is an industry term. We didn’t make that up. When we speak we speak on what we see in our surroundings. If you can’t relate, i don’t know what to tell you. Our music gets criticized by the same hypocrites who made sure they sold it to the masses to make money. You don’t call Al Capone’s gangster lifestyle shameful!!! This society is what hip-hop reflects, so stop getting OFFENDED by the raw reporting the art form does!!!!!!! P.E.A.C.E.

i didn’t comment on oriley’s character…His style of argument is impressive. Anywho is nas not (or was he not) a gansta rapper. Just face it some of they lyrics in rap music are down right offense and shamefull. Yes this can be observed in all kinds of music…I know. So hip hoppers stop gettin offended when your music gets criticized!

the same o’riley that called nas a”gangsta rapper” and brought some poor choices in rappers to defend the genre in one of his episodes.he’s more of a hypocrite if anything.

“woman has been exploited for years. It is sexist issue only. congradulation afrrican culture takes in american culture.
I was naive and disapointed to find black music picked up white culture’s objectification. from hevy metal to pop and now rap. blacks and whites are equal. Hey, colour is insignificant.
